Joseph Ogbeide

Joseph Ogbeide is a self-taught painter whose work focuses on exploring human mind states and the human need to impose and derive meaning in the world around.  His signature works make use of simple lines in the representation of emotional states and social interactions that are core to the human condition, but he also explores the use of muted and occasionally visceral strokes and color to create varied abstract anthropomorphic forms that the viewers of his work might reckon as familiar, and then cast some meaning on.
